IN 2024, GEORGIA’S TOTAL EXTERNAL DEBT INCREASED BY 4%, BUT ITS RATIO TO GDP DECREASED BY 4.7 PP
As of December 31, 2024, Georgia’s total external debt amounted to $25.2 billion, increasing by 4% year-on-year, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported. NBG indicated that this volume corresponds to 74.5% of the country’s GDP for 2024 (against of 79.2% in 2023, i.e. year-on-year annual makes up 4.7 percentage points (pp)).
