Transparency International: 1 in 3 Lithuanian MPS publish info on their meetings
According to the anti-corruption non-governmental organization, lawmakers
of the ruling Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (LFGU) and the opposition
Liberal Movement had the most declared meetings.
Liberal MP Simonas Gentvilas
tops the list with 48 meetings, followed by the LFGU's MPs Bronius Markauskas with 41, Aurelijus
Veryga with 36, Viktoras Pranckietis
with 35 and Virginija Vingriene with
30 meetings.
Forty-five members of the 141-strong Seimas declared at least one meeting
with interest groups, mostly with business associations and business people and
representatives of non-governmental organizations, trade unions and art,
science and religious communities.
Three lawmakers - the LFGU's Tomas
Tomilinas, Liberal Simonas Gentvilas
and non-attached MP Ausra Maldeikiene
- declared their meetings with registered lobbyists.
Lawmakers of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania–Christian Families
Alliance publish no information about their agendas.
The anti-corruption watchdog analyzed records about meetings with interest
groups between Mar. 10 and Aug. 16 available on lawmakers' official calendars
and personal websites
