Charleston and Huntington Receive Feature-Packed Verizon Yellow Pages

CHARLESTON, West Virginia--Idearc Media Corp., publisher of the Verizon(R) Yellow Pages and home to Superpages.com(R), is distributing three feature-packed localized editions of the Verizon Yellow Pages, including a Huntington directory and two versions of the directory that serves Kanawha-Putnam Counties -- a Charleston edition and a Nitro edition.

"Shoppers around here turn to our directories to find the information they need to make informed buying decisions," said Bee Bokelman, general sales manager for Idearc Media. "Idearc Media continues to offer features that make it easier to find neighbors, local businesses and community information right in their own backyard."

Within each of the directories, consumers lives will be "Looking Up" with local and community information, including:

* a community magazine with information on must-see attractions, local entertainment venues and recreational activities;
* a complete residential and business listings white pages section;
* a Dining Your Way! restaurant guide that spotlights area restaurants with an A-Z index, menus and maps; and
* an expanded coupon section.

Residents in the area will also receive the Tri-County Verizon(R) Yellow Pages Companion Directory, a compact-sized directory featuring listings, advertisements, menu pages and money-saving coupons for the three counties.

For residents who choose to access business listings via the Internet, Superpages.com (www.superpages.com), the expert in local search, with more than 2.8 billion network searches in 2006, enables them to find local and national businesses and compare goods and services of merchants when they are ready to buy.

Life is Looking Up for Local Heroes and Charleston and Huntington

In addition, two local organizations have been recognized by Idearc Media as local community heroes. Their stories are featured in the four editions of the local Verizon Yellow Pages. The heroes include:

* The Education Alliance, a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve public education in West Virginia; and
* The Christian Appalachian Project, a nonprofit organization that assists the needy in Appalachia by raising funds and building homes.

This recognition is part of an Idearc Media program honoring local heroes in major metropolitan areas throughout 2007.

"Because we live and work in the greater Charleston and Huntington area, we know there are many people in the community who inspire us all to make it a better place," said Bokelman. "Our Local Heroes program shares their inspiring stories with the entire community."
