Cyprus Airways, the national flag carrier brand of Cyprus, has introduced new flights between Malta International Airport and Larnaca.

The airline announced that the inaugural flight from Malta to Larnaca will take off on the 27th of June, with the schedule flying twice weekly every Wednesday and Sunday until the end of October.

The appointment of a General Sales Agent for Malta will be be announced shortly.

Cyprus Airways will also connect visitors flying from Malta to Larnaca via its international network to Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Skiathos, Preveza, Rome, Verona, Prague, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kiev, Odessa, Tel Aviv, and Beirut.

Cyprus Airways, said that with Malta enhancing its routes, it now flies to 14 international destinations.

A pioneer in the Cypriot travel industry, Cyprus Airways stressed that has an “impressive safety record,” and as a “Covid-aware airline this has been taken to new levels.”

Cyprus Airways added that it is appreciative of the international effort to make travel easier, coordinated, and safe with initiatives like the digital green certificate that would allow EU citizens who have been vaccinated, tested negative or recovered from Covid-19 to travel more freely within the EU.

Cyprus Airways was awarded for its efforts to enrich local tourism during the last Cyprus Tourism Awards. In addition, Cyprus Airways has announced a zero penalty fee for flight changes on basic fare tickets.

“Air connectivity is critical for all small islands, especially for island states like Malta and Cyprus. The smooth functioning of our economies depends on reliable air transport on as many air routes as are economically feasible. The recent news that our Cypriot counterparts have chosen to start operating their flag carrier to Malta is truly encouraging for more cooperation in the coming months,” highlighted Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo.
