The Free Economic Area in Tirana is drawing the attention of foreign companies at the Technology Fair, which is taking place in Hanover, Germany. This is what the head of the Municipality of Tirana declared, during the visit of the presentation of the Municipality of Tirana at this fair. Veliaj said that German companies will get to know with the spaces offered by the Albanian state, both in respect to taxes and for the facilities of doing business.
"There is a tremendous interest in the free economic area, for which Tirana has the license and has started work. We are looking forward to the fact that the 5-7 thousand new jobs that will be opened will also be related to Germany and the well-paid salaries of German companies. We have started an aggressive marketing campaign in all possible fairs, to say that in Tirana there is sun, there is a desire to work and also the space and facilities provided by the government and the municipality, both in respect to taxes and to do business. We look forward to continuing the good work started with Lufthansa Industry Solutions and several other companies, which have turned Tirana into the epicenter of coding, well-paid jobs and jobs that are the future of employment," said Veliaj.
He said that after the Technology fair, the Tourism fair, which will be held in Berlin, will be targeted.
"I look forward to continuing the cooperation with the Berlin Fair for tourism during these 3 days that we will be at the (technology) fair, given that Tirana, in addition to the coast, has also become a destination for tourism. Let's turn this special relationship between Albania and Germany, from an inferior relationship, where mainly in the 1990s we were looking for help and assistance for survival, into a today partnership where we work, exchange and where, of course, both sides win, both the German side and our super qualified staff, who today enjoys much better salaries," said the mayor.
