Major supermarket is handing out free hot drinks for Mother’s Day – here’s how to get your hands on a cuppa

A MAJOR supermarket is offering a free cuppa just in time for Mother’s Day.
Asda is offering a free tea or coffee to Morrisons cafe customers at the counter in any of its 205 cafés this Sunday.
The offer is valid this Sunday, March 30, so those with a Morrisons More Card simply need to head to their local Asda cafe on that date.
The UK's third largest supermarket also added that it was offering a £4 afternoon teal deal which includes a scone, jam, clotted cream and a hot drink.
And, for 55p extra, there is an option to upgrade to a latte or cappuccino.
It comes after earlier this week, Morrisons announced it was closing 52 of its cafés, leaving some customers without a regular spot for a hot drink and a bite to eat.
A total of 18 Market Kitchens, 13 florists, 35 meat counters, 35 fish counters and four pharmacies will also close their doors over the next few months.
The news also means that 365 workers are at risk of redundancy.
Rami Baitiéh, chief executive of Morrisons, revealed that the closures, are to "reinvigorate" the company, and allow money to be invested in other areas.
Ian McEvans, vice president of commercial food at Asda, said: “Cafés are an important part of the shopping experience for many of our customers.
“With our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea deal running this Sunday, we wanted to offer some reassurance to those Morrisons customers who may be losing their local café by welcoming them into Asda with a free brew on us.”
Mr McEvans added: “With the Easter holidays approaching, we think it’s also important to remind customers that kids can still eat for just £1 at Asda – with no need to buy an adult meal!”
The deal has been a hit with parents looking to save on meals out, and it’s available every day in Asda cafés.
Asda has previously run similar offers, including its Winter Warmer deal and budget-friendly meal options.
Recently, for Mother's Day, one Asda shopper managed to pick up a LEGO bouquet of flowers, usually £54.99, but it scanned for just £3.
Earlier this week, H. Samuel slashed as much as 50% off prices across a wide range of jewellery, with discounts on everything from delicate pendants to stylish timepieces.
And to make sure gifts arrive on time, the retailer is offering free express delivery on all Mother’s Day purchases.
Last week, M&S was giving away a packet of its Outrageously Chocolatey Milk Chocolate Biscuits for free.
The biscuits typically costs £6 at M&S stores.
To qualify for the offer, you need to be a Sparks Member, which is M&S's free loyalty scheme.
It gives shoppers the chance to get offers that are tailored to them.
You will also then need to register for the M&S Parenthood Club.
This can be done if you go into the "My Account" section of your Sparks app and then click on "Subscriptions & clubs".
Elsewhere, Cafe Rouge is offering all mums the chance to enjoy a free dessert when dining from the Mother’s Day set menu.
Likewise, Bill's is offering all mums a free desert or a glass of fizz when ordering a main.
At Las Iguanas, mums can enjoy 50% off main dishes when ordering any main meal.
Meanwhile, the National Trust is offering the opportunity for all mothers to enjoy free entry at its sites across the UK on Mother’s Day.
It is important to remember to shop around when buying Mother’s Day gifts, as you might find a cheaper alternative.
Websites like Trolley and Price Spy let you compare thousands of products across different retailers to find the best price.
Price Spy even lets you see how much an item has cost over time.
A quick scan on the Google Shopping/Product tab will also bring up how much retailers are selling a certain item for too.
It's worth signing up to the Asda Rewards scheme to save money at the supermarket.
The loyalty scheme, which is free to join, lets you earn Cashpot points by completing "missions" like hitting spending targets or buying products in certain categories.
You can also earn cashback by buying "star" products.
If you're a regular shopper and often go for Asda's premium lines, it's worth taking on the "downshifting" challenge, too.
This means going for budget lines instead, which could save you hundreds of pounds a year on your shopping.
It's worth joining specific Facebook groups where shoppers flag bargain deals they've found online or in-store.
Two worth checking are the Latest Deals Facebook Group and the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.
The Sun revealed earlier this year the best time to score deals at Asda is once in the morning and again in the evening.
Look out for fresh produce like fruit and veg, often reduced to as low as 10p, especially during the morning reductions.
Check the reduced shelf throughout the day as different times can offer varying discounts.
