Good Bad Ugly box office collection day 2: Ajith Kumar ‘sambavam’ is already among the top 5 highest-grossing Tamil films of 2025; beats domestic collections of Veera Dheera Sooran
Good Bad Ugly box office collection day 2: The film has collected Rs 13.5 crore (nett) on Friday, and has zoomed right into the top 5 of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2025

Good Bad Ugly box office collection day 2: Over the past decade, Ajith Kumar s films have generally avoided falling prey to the demands of commercial cinema. However, with Adhik Ravichandran’s Good Bad Ugly, Ajith has turned the clock to satisfy his core fans, who were waiting to see the ‘vintage’ Ajith back on the big screen. According to Mythri Movie Makers, the film made Rs 30.9 crores (gross) just in Tamil Nadu, which is the biggest opening of Ajith’s career.
According to trade website Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 13.5 crore (nett) on Day 2. Incidentally, Ajith’s previous film, Vidaamuyarchi, which hit the screens in February this year, opened to Rs 26 crore (nett) on Day 1, and dropped down to Rs 10.25 crore on Day 2. However, unlike the Magizh Thirumeni directorial, which was criticially acclaimed but didn’t receive the same response at the box office, Good Bad Ugly seems to have ticked the latter box with much gusto.

Good Bad Ugly, which is a festive release that is hoping to capitalise on a long weekend and a public holiday on Monday, might break a few more records in its run. The present domestic collections stand at Rs 42.75 crore. Although the film has had a dip on Day 2 (Friday), it is expected to witness an uptick in collections over the weekend, and enter the Rs 100 crore club by the end of the holiday season.
The film had an impressive 50.64% occupancy for its Tamil version, with the evening and night shows garnering and impressive 52.99% and 73.91%, respectively. Good Bad Ugly has zoomed into the top 5 highest-earning Tamil films of 2025 in just two days. It has already crossed the collections of Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran, which hit the screens a couple of weeks back. The only films ahead of Good Bad Ugly are Madha Gaja Raja, Vidaamuyarchi, and Dragon.
Dragon, which recently celebrated its successful 50-day run, is the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. The film collected Rs 83.66 crore (nett) in the domestic market, and it is expected that Good Bad Ugly will cross the number comfortably over the next three days. In the worldwide market, Good Bad Ugly had a decent showing. It became the highest-grossing film for Ajith in the United Kingdom and Malaysia.
While the film has no competition in the Tamil box office for the next two weeks till the release of Sundar C’s Gangers on April 24, and Suriya’s Retro on May 1, Good Bad Ugly is facing stiff competition from the Malayalam releases of the week, Mammootty’s Bazooka, Naslen’s Alappuzha Gymkhana, and Basil Joseph’s Maranamass. However, the Ajith-starrer is raking in decent numbers from Kerala with a decent 48% occupancy in the primary centres of Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
