James A ‘Jim’ Hitt

James A “Jim” Hitt, 87, of Wellsville passed away on April 12, 2025. He was born on July 30, 1937 a son of the late Earl R and Agnes E (Evans) Hitt.

Jim was employed at Crucible Steel and later at General Materials Terminal. He was a member of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution and the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Hitt.

He is survived by: his wife, Rosemary Hitt; his three children: Michael (Heather) Hitt, Charissa (Mike) Nagy, and Jeremy (Katie) Hitt; and 6 grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Wellsville First Christian Church from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. The funeral will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the church officiating.
