Having already established three restaurants in New York City, Barilla is expanding its fast casual pasta concept to California with two units opening by early fall. One will be on the campus of the University of Southern California at USC Village, and another will open in South Coast Plaza in Orange County, according to a company press release.
The 2,600-square foot Orange County facility and its 1,800-square foot counterpart at USC will feature open kitchens and Mediterranean ingredients.
"This is the lifestyle we were raised on," Barilla's Executive Chef Alfonso Sanna said in the release. "The Italian way of eating is one of the healthiest in the world."
Rounding out Barilla's menu is its dessert offerings, including Tiramisu, mascarpone cream, Pannacotta and Torta Del Giorno. A variety of Italian wines and both imported and domestic beers will also be available.
"The world loves Italian food and the tradition behind it," said Barilla restaurants President Luca Uva. "Barilla provides a relaxing environment where you can share a plate of pasta with your friends and family."
