Reported Wolverhampton Wanderers target Wallace has hit out at ‘lies’ on the internet.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has been heavily linked with a transfer away from Italian club Lazio this summer and Wolves are one of the teams rumoured to be interested.

Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to secure up to four quality additions this summer but Wolves are yet to make a signing.

The Molineux men return to competitive action next week in the Europa League second qualifying round but Nuno’s squad isn’t likely to feature any new additions.

However, according to several reports on the continent, Wolves are looking to sign Wallace before the transfer window shuts.

The centre-back is a client of super-agent Jorge Mendes, who continues to act as a transfer advisor to Wolves owners Fosun.

In a post on Instagram, though, Wallace has blasted social media conjecture.

He said: “What would be the reason why people wrote lies? The worst is for people who do not know the truth and follow lies as if it were the only option in life! Please learn more before you agree with the things you read on the internet!”
