United Nations expresses its appreciation to Ambassador Hisham Badr and celebrates long standing partnership with Egypt

On 6 September 2017, the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) hosted Ambassador Hisham Badr at the Residence of the UN Resident Coordinator, Mr. Richard Dictus. The occasion was Ambassador Badr’s imminent departure to assume the posting as the next Egyptian Ambassador to Italy. The discussions covered a wide range of global, regional and national United Nations-related topics and reconfirmed the excellent working relationships between the Government of Egypt and the United Nations. The UNCT expressed their sincere gratitude to Ambassador Badr for his stewardship of this relation and constructive partnership over the past five years.

Reflecting on his five-year partnership with the United Nations’ Agencies, Funds and Programmes in Egypt, Ambassador Badr reiterated the importance of delivering impactful results for the people of Egypt and ensuring alignment with nationally determined economic and social development priorities. He also recognized that the UNCT has improved its internal working coordination and has, especially over the last year, engaged in closer dialogue with the Government of Egypt.

The UN Resident Coordinator presented Ambassador Badr with a commemorative plaque as a small token of appreciation and expressed his sincere desire to further strengthen this solid partnership, ensuring that the UNCT continuously expands its relevance, results and service to the people of Egypt.
