Fraser Institute Media Advisory: With Canadian milk in Trump’s crosshairs, should we phase-out supply management? New study coming Tuesday, July 17

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Tuesday, July 17, the Fraser Institute will release a new study on dairy policy and supply management.

Phasing Out Supply Management: Lessons from Australia’s Dairy Industry spotlights how Australia ended its protectionist dairy policies and the effects on both consumers and farmers.

Canada’s supply management policies—which control the price and production of dairy products (milk, butter, etc.) and poultry—remain a sticking point in ongoing NAFTA negotiations.

A news release with additional information will be issued via GlobeNewswire on Tuesday, July 17 at 5:00 a.m. (Eastern).
