A lorry driver involved in a crash on the M62 that left the front of his cab completely smashed has been fined for careless driving. Bruno Dos Santos de Mendes, of Crowley Road in Oxford, was driving a Scania HGV along the motorway between Junction 21 and 22 near Rochdale last year when he hit another lorry in front of him.

The 36-year-old admitted to driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road in a public place without due care and attention, a Manchester Magistrates' Court heard. The incident back on November 17, 2021 caused ‘severe delays’, the M.E.N reported.

Dos Santos was fined £466 and was given five points on his licence by the court on August 5, 2022.
