US SVOD Paramount+ will launch in Italy on 15 September as part of its European rollout.

It will debut with a slate of Italian originals including Circeo, a drama about the 1975 massacre; 14 Days, which tells the story of a couple forced into two weeks of seclusion; and Corpo Libero, a thriller based on the novel by Ilaria Bernardini.

The service will boast more than 8,000 hours of content at launch, for the price of €7.99 ($8.24) per month, with other original content including mafia drama Tulsa King, Yellowstone spin-offs 1883 and 1923 and sci-fi action series Halo.

“Paramount+ is rapidly expanding its global footprint, offering audiences worldwide an unbeatable content slate, with the biggest stars and most compelling global and local stories all together on one platform. Italy not only has an incredible production history, from cult movies to TV series, but it is also a key market for the global expansion of Paramount+,” said Marco Nobili, EVP and international general manager of Paramount+.

“This launch, followed by Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France in the coming months will bring Paramount+ to all major European markets by the end of the year.”
